Compiling maps
« on: June 22, 2007, 09:43:44 PM »
I have a map saved as a .map file right now. I would like to complie it and save it as a .bsp. How do you compile maps you have in .map format if you don't have BSPBuild. I have heard something about using qbsp to make it a .bsp, but when i try to click qbsp on the Export menu, it pops up a MS DOS window and tries to open a .bsp with paintball. A .bsp that doesn't exist yet, because i don't know how to make it a .bsp. This will probably take 1 minute to answer, so please help.

Spook

doing the qbsp puts the map into .bsp format, unlit of course, and then opens it through paintball so you can preview it.

Use qbsp vis rad to see it lit, and then final compile to put the map completely together. All of these will open the map through paintball

Whenever I use qbsp, it never makes it a .bsp file. It just tries to open a nonexistent file because it doesn't make it a .bsp
