Best. Quake. Port. Ever.
« on: August 01, 2007, 09:32:29 AM »
http://sourceforge.net/projects/fquake/

Does anyone remember eQuake? Well, it's back, it's bigger, it's better, and this time it's 100% legal. fQuake rocks your socks. Everything you ever wanted for quake ever, it only downloads what it needs and makes q1 look so <3.

Now who wants to dig-up their old diskettes and have a game of CTF?

:D

It's not an engine, it's a pack of a few engines, tons of new maps, a couple mods, and content enhancements.

Oh, ok.  Does it require having original Quake content to play?

To use it fully, yes, but there's an option in the installer to install shareware if you don't have the whole game.

gragh?

You get the installer. You select what you want. Then it downloads and installs. Otherwise, you'd just get a 500mb installer to install 200mb of stuff you'll use, and 300mb of untouched bollocks lying around on your disk.

You select what you want.
What do you call that? :P

But I do understand the principle behind it.
