Cover it up.  If it were my motorcycle, I wouldn't want it to get rained on.

To cover or not to cover? That is the question.
« on: August 21, 2007, 05:31:22 PM »
Say you live in an apartment complex and somebody who parks near you drives a nice looking Harley Davidson motorcycle, which he keeps covered.  You aren't sure which apartment he lives in, though.  One day, as you're about to leave, you notice the cover has completely blown off and the sky is overcast.  It looks like it might rain soon.  You have a slight moral dilemma.  Should you attempt to cover it?

If it were obvious that the cover had blown off, then I'd cover it back up.

I'd cover it up. Gota let the baby have her rest. Plus, I would be pretty pissed off it that was my harley getting rained on.

cover it, but make sure the engine isn't hot...might melt the cover onto the engine and that would be a real mess.

I probably wouldnt notice that the motorcycle's cover was blown off if the motorcycle was owned by someone I didnt know, so obviously I would cover the motorcycle of anyone I know.

I'd say cover it. What would be the reason(s) not to? besides being lazy and/or being a jerk.

The first thing I would do is steal his keys, then cover the bike.  But I'd probably get evicted for 64 days.

It doesn't help seeing that I'm the leader of an alleged motorcycle theft gang.

 I wouldnt touch it.

You have no idea who owns it.
All you need is for soemone to see you messing with their bike and you end up on the 6 oclock news with gunshot wounds.

Sorry, just being VERY realistic.  I've seen things like this happen in person and it isn't pretty.....

knack does have a point though. not just gunshot wounds but legal ramifications. in this day and age you can be sued over something like that. u cover the bike, someone sees u or the parking area has monitoring, harley owner comes out sees a scratch on his hog (which he got last night while pulling outta the parking lot at the local bar after downing a gallon of yager) jits gets sued. as a cop i have seen theifs break into a house, get shot by the owner, and then sue the owner for crippling him. gotta love society.
moo!!

Be a good person and cover it ;)

But man, you in USA have far to many laws, you just might get sued. Nevertheless I´d cover it up.

Well, I did cover it the other day, but today there was a massive storm.  Apparently there was even a tornado, and my power got knocked out, so I'm just staying at work.  Needless to say, the cover didn't stay on.  *shrug*  I tried.  I probably won't bother re-covering it in the future.  It it made it through that, it'll make it through future rain storms.

Than I just hope that the guy loves his bike enough to put it somewhere in during the storm... I wouldn´t mind if someone coveres my bike before the rain and i don´t notice it. You´ve done well Jit, Edge is proud  ;D
