The time is out of sync, more and more....
« on: August 03, 2007, 04:31:26 PM »
The forum says: August 03, 2007, 05:31:26 PM
My computer, cellphone, clocks in my house, etc, say 5:17:21PM...

There is a 13-14 minutes difference now...  A month ago it was 10, three months ago, it was only 8. What's going on?

Server sucks? Just reset it every once and a while, if you can.

lol, I installed speed hax on the server.

Edit: I blame Linux.

Edit2: Is there a way to automatically set the time using a central time server or something on a regular basis?

Edit3: And if so, what is it?

Why can't anything in Linux ever be simple? :-\

I don't think this would help much anyway, since I never reboot the server.

Because then it would be easy, and anyone could do it. Then the IT job niche wouldn't exist, and ton of people (many of whom probably contribute to linux) wouldn't have jobs.

Oh, also my friend who lives down the street's parents are friends with some guy who's Linus' right-hand-man. Also, one of the guys who invented the CD attends the church my parents attend. I'm sure there's more, too.

Temporary fix for the time offset:

1.  Click profile ("http://dplogin.com/forums/index.php?action=profile")
2.  Click  "Look and Layout Preferences"
3.  Next to "Time Offset:" which should read 0 by default, enter -0.25

It's the closest you can probably get.
