Well, it could certainly be an issue with paintball that is simply more prominant on win98 for whatever reason.  It could also be a whole slew of other things, like driver bugs or bugs with windows itself.  It's really hard to say.

I was using the alpha which is still q2 ... and this q2 mod is the only program on my computer crashing, besides AAO which is well known driver issue that has been identified to the point you can submit a bug report.

The alpha which is still q2?  Do you mean you are using the alpha standalone or the quake2 mod?  If it's the standalone, is it only build 14 that crashes?
