Today the 3rd instalment of the EuroPaint Cup Series took place with 16 teams from around the World taking part. The tournament made use of an extra 4 servers thanks to Leezerz joining up with the usual OTB, QeHs and MeMi servers. So a big thanks to those guys for allowing us the use of their servers for around 5 hours today, we couldn't host the tournament without your support.
Following on from the spirit of the previous 2 tournaments, each team showed fantastic sportsmanship and fair play and I'd like to thank every player that took part, you guys make the tournament the success that it is.
There were very few surprises in the top bracket, with teams like NoSkillz and *STaRz* reaching the last 4.
The lower bracket however did spring some surprises in true EuroPaint fashion. Little known polish side New World Order (pops + mus) taking the unpredictable map fortress 50:32 against a high pinging Ij team. The Czechs continued to be a strong EuroPaint presence with both CzS and Tor& going on strong runs through the tournament, with CzS one match away from the lower bracket final. EuroPaint #1 winners XI, having lost their opening match to CzS managed to take overcome them in the lower bracket semi final to book a place in the lower bracket final with team Opi!, EuroPaint #2 winners. A tight encounter finally saw Opi! take overrun 27:22.
The all German final therefore, between strong pre-tournament favourites NoSkillz and defending Champions Opi! went right to the wire in the closest EuroPaint final to date! NoSkillz started off the strongest taking an edgy win on Newbie 17:10, with Opi! responding gracefully in bogwood 10:6. The final map, that unpredictable fortress lived up to its new reputation in a final that saw the score tip in each teams favour with almost every round! NoSkillz having the best of the play for the majority of the map were brought back from an 8 point lead down to just 1 point with only 12 seconds remaining, opi! never gave up the fight and with a well-timed grab took the map, the final and the tournament with a 46:49 victory!

2: NoSkillz Gaming - viper, mz, frozer, kakashi
3: XI - Lekky, blaa, Sonny
