New revision of the DP Resource command/variable reference
« on: October 21, 2007, 12:30:00 AM »
More commands and variables added, and all much more in detail.

http://digitalpaint.therisenrealm.com/reference/commands

DID YOU KNOW...

The stats command? (since build 7)
http://digitalpaint.therisenrealm.com/reference/commands#stats
For the current map, it shows the number of uses of each gun, the number of kills done by each gun, and your accuracy for each gun.

The server g_autofire variable? (since build 16)
http://digitalpaint.therisenrealm.com/reference/commands#g_autofire
Enables autofire. If it is false, holding down the fire button will only shoot one paintball.

The ignore command? (since build 14)
http://digitalpaint.therisenrealm.com/reference/commands#ignore
Ignores a player. [id] is an ID number that can be found from <players>.

The gl_texture_saturation variable? (since build 3)
http://digitalpaint.therisenrealm.com/reference/commands#gl_texture_saturation
Sets texture saturation. Value is a number between 0 (grayscale) and 1 (full color).

Maybe someone could start a reality server, with all the speedball maps, semi-auto fire, tripping enabled, and long long elim times.

Thanks for the list, now I can work out exactly what variables would be required.

I might consider doing that if people made some decent airball maps (custom textures; the whole nine yards) and if tripping is effective enough.  People would just bind +attack to their mousewheel and then it'd just be like the early DPB releases.

Tripping isn't necessary, I discovered, just use sv_airaccelerate 0.

I think using that causes bigger problems.

Pretty sure the last thing people want to see when they join a pub is not being able to move and play normally. If you want to play normal paintball go play the half-life version.

They don't have to play on that server if they don't like it.

Keep up with the current direction of this topic, I'd also like to see a reality server, utilizing a lot of the commands from this list... everything from 1200 gravity, tripping, and of course, photo-sourced textures in amazing maps.

Gravity ruins paintballs.

You mean the jumps?  Essential part of play...  agreed, however I would still like to see a reality server with gravity.

I agree with the 1200 to counter-act the jumping, but try comparing the flight path of your paintballs at 800/1200 gravity.  Unless jitspoe has removed the effect that sv_gravity has on paintballs recently, you should notice that they dip quicker.  This sort of realistic game-mode would really only work at Carbine/Autococker+Steel because all of the other markers/barrels are terrible.  Wish there was a quick cvar which adjusts the respawn time on dispensable equipment (ammo, grenades, co2).

I thought I noticed the paintballs dipping at 1200, but after taking a few more test rounds, it seemed minimal.  If you add more advanced cvars for equipment and etc. to the feature vote (I have a feeling the feature vote is currently making you cringe if you've read it lately), I'd vote for it.

I would estimate that a paintball field is about the length same distance as one cliff edge to the other on antioch.  If you can't reasonably aim from opposite corners it'll be silly (like PB2's old-old-old ball flight).

NPPL field sizes are:
10 Man: 300' x 150' (2790x1395 units)
7 Man: 180' x 100' (1674x930 units)
5 Man: 150' x 75' (1395x698 units)

Edit: Dimension corrections

Could make it an outdoor field in the woods.

Checked out the stats command the other day and I like it wish I would have known about it a long time ago.
