I don't know how reasonable this is: siege map, lots of metal, and the flag is caged, so there is a little hole in the wall, shoot a grenade in the hole and the flag is reachable. maybe lots of security lasers and obstacles...

I doubt it will work but it'll help me improve with entities.
Any idea how target_lasers work?

They don't.  At least not with paintball.

Didn't think so Jits should probably remove all the entities that don't work with Paintball.

That's like, the problem... The entity was removed from the game code because who the hell would use a laser with paintball...

If you want a tripwire, use a 1x1 unit brush, and a 1x1 unit trigger_multiple, and stick them over the top of each other. Make the brush trans33 and mist, and voila, you have a tripwire.

Edit: And if you wanted to hurt/kill someone, like a laser, you could replace the trigger_multiple with a trigger_hurt or a targeted killbox.

Vic I meant he should have taken them out of the entity file that I believe he modified for the release or am I mistaken on this?

I want to see paintball maps themed in that places I *can't* play real paintball, not in places I already do...

I'd like to see maps that are based in Las Vegas, you know, on the strip or something, maybe one around Washington DC, with car models and government buildings, what about one set on a baseball field or in a stadium.  I also think it'd be neat to see smaller, non-traditional maps, such as in a server room (KnacK may play paintball there, but I don't), in a house, in a public restroom, etc.

I really think an urban paintball map would be very cool...  I love the maps we have now, but they're clearly made for paintball, take some of my favorite maps for example: pbcup_renoir... it's very good, but it's a map set in brushes with no details, I mean, what is the purpose of this structure I'm playing in?  Same with Siege Castle, why am I defending a castle that doesn't have a bathroom?  Hell, it's fun, and that's a good enough reason, but I don't think it'd *hurt* to see some very non-traditional paintball maps.

How about a hockey rink? Can you just take a soccer map, resize it, change textures and put ice properties in it?

I thought a hockey rink was a little too easy, considering it'd just be a slick brush.. :P
