Failed hardware check returns 0.20 64bit linux - Solved .
« on: January 16, 2008, 05:07:29 PM »
Hi.

Unfortunately the issue with hardware check in back with latest build (0.20) on 64 bit - I have  gcrypt  libs installed (and 32bit libs).

This is not related to one particular version of 64 bit linux  - it happens on opensuse 10.3, gentoo , arch linux.

If the 0.19 amd64 patch is installed if you install the 0.20 patch on top I have to copy ref_pbgl.so and snd_oss.so from original 0.19 full build to run the game.

(I have also installed a fresh 0.19 build and copied 0.20 patch over it  - without 0.19 64bit patch - same results.)

My solution so far is to downgrade back to 0.19 in 64 bit

Btw 0.20 is  100% fine on 32 bit linux - the download speed of maps is amazing !

Is there any thing I can do to help diagnose the issue?

Cheers

 :)

It's part of the cheat detection system.  I have to make a special build.

Hi.

I have just tried paintball 0.20 on a fresh opensuse 10.3 64bit install.

For some reason I am no longer getting the failed hardware check message at all.

I just did a fresh copy of 0.19 and copied the 0.20 patch.

Works fine - I have played for about 40 mins so the hardware check would have failed by now.

I'll try and test on other 64bit systems and let you know.

One thing I was doing before was coping some map .bsp files from the old version would this have cause the hardware check failure?

I have the following packages installed.

libgcrypt
libgcrypt-devel
libgcrypt-32
libgcrypt-32-devel

Build 20?  Have you tried 21?

Hi.

Just tired to run the 0.21 update it fails on various systems 32/64, when you launch paintball2 you get -  Received signal 11, exiting...

(i have replied to the 0.21 thread regarding this - paintball2_build021_linux_full_pretest1 works fine though)
