Unnecessary Comments In-game
« on: January 19, 2008, 07:59:53 PM »
Is there any type of penalty for making comments about someone's (supposed) nationality and then telling them to violate themselves to cartoon images? If there is, a player in an OTB server (I won't give a name since I don't know if he even did anything against the rules yet) did that, and I got him to repeat some of the stuff he said about Japanese people. If there's something you'll do, I'll post the demo, if not, whatever.

I wouldn't take it seriously, the only thing is I know if I said things like this guy, I'd be gone for a month.

everyone has their opinion... what he said about japanese could be justified (historical facts) HOWEVER having said that, i dont think it is appropriate to make any comments to anyone justified or not. i dont think there's anything you or the server can do except just ignore them.

i've seen quite a bit of racial, stupid and discriminative comments... i just ignore them... it does get annoying with the spamming but eventually they get tired and leave the server.

but you are right, some comments are unnecessary and we dont need that in this community.

I don't think saying Japanese people all pleasure themselves to cartoon porn is historically accurate.

Btw, I'm not Japanese, but the name I was using is Japanese for "6 foot staff". XD

Well I generally make nationalist comments and then proceed to tell people to violate themselves with a crow bar. So no there is really no rule against it.

Ha.

Anyway, in-game there isn't anything you can do but ignore it (Using the ignore command, no less!). Take things in general a bit less seriously, as well.

This is one of the many topics about this problem.  Why not vote for this feature so you won't need to even see what these people say:

Here's Darkness again, only saying things like that since it's me posting... If you don't have anything helpful to say, please just don't.

Seriously steeb.  Get over it.  Obviously it bothered you enough to make you post on the forums (either that or you have WAY to much free time).    So just try not to take things so seriously.  It's fine.

Clearly they were trying to frustrate you, and since you posted on the forums about it you showed that they succeeded.  So, you could either continue posting and letting people know they achieved their goal, or you could suck it up and stop whining about something that happens to everyone.

Notice I haven't posted in like 12 hours... If I cared about it anymore I would have posted again. Once again, pay attention.
