This game isn't meant to be realistic, crazy.

Yes. Because it's realistic to hop along at 80 mph.

1. Remove the Observer mode and while you wait to revive you are at your flag. (No Voice over IP to spy.)
2. Give bunny hop a penalty. (Remove stamina from  the player.)
3. Slow down the run. (It is way to fast.)
4. Add a prone position. (Harder see and good snipe.)
5. When killed raise hands and run back to base. (Would be funny.)
6. Proximity mines
7. Paint balls come from the end of gun.
8. If you are camping a ref-bot would stand near you and watch you.

1. chasecamonly 1 does basically the same thing - you can only see your teammates.
2. tripping 1
4. The current crouch has probably the smallest hitbox of any FPS -- going prone would actually increase this, and the game is too fast for it anyway.  Getting a prone player to look right (conform to the shape of the ground) is also more effort than I want to spend on something that has little to no use.
5. As previously mentioned, this would be too distracting.
6. People would just place them on the flags.  1-path maps would suck more than they already do.
7. QWPB had that, and you could actually stand next to and shoot through thin walls. :)  I'll probably work on tweaking that when we get new weapon models, though.
8. I'm not sure what this would accomplish.  Do refs in real paintball stand and watch you when you stay in one spot?

well ive only heard word from my cousin about "proximity mines" but they were more like tiny little things that were under the ground that pop...not huge ones that come before your face and blow your head off...although i guess the little ones could hurt if they hit you in the right place...but I could be wrong. My cousin is a sneaky fellow...

1. No, this would make being dead WAY too boring. There's a team-only chasecam lock, though...
2. There is no stanima in this game, and (as DT said) learn to bunnyhop. It's a part of the game, live with it.
3. Nothing wrong with being fast. Make the game more challanging.
4.Going prone would be sucide. It would not get used.
5. How could you tell who was out and or not just at the first glance? You couldn't, and would waste co2/paintballs.
6. Nope. They would just make the one-path maps even worse.
7. Quit your wining. ;) (Alternate response: OMFG HE FOUND A FLAW! ALERT THE MEDIA!)
8. Yeah. A ref-bot. (<- sarcasm) And he would do...?

"Dead" paintballers sit down on the ground and can only look around but you can still hide behind them.

i think he meant that with a ref bot watching them u can tell where the camper is by where the ref bot is looking.

This was all discussed in quite recently in another thread: http://dpball.com/forums/index.php?topic=1124.0

If you want the game to be more realistic, why don't you make a mod for it? I'ts open source, so it wouldn't even hhave to be a mod. I think asking the community to change some of the vital elements of the game, such as the running speed, is really aking too much.

Why dont u let the game be? :P

the ref bot isnt a good idea i think how would he se who is a camper and who not? If someone plays defensive is he a camper? Maybe the bot just looking at persons who r standing on one poitn... but if a rusher standsstill behind a corner is he a camper?
And the death paintballers cant move or something:
as taco says recon is a part of teh game which is in big matches ( 5on5 etc) nearly more important than the aiming

I think the game is ok as it is

Not to interfere with your thinking process, I'm not on the forum much because I play lots of quake-based games.
One thing I've seen effective against campers in SoF2 was a mod that if someone stood in the same place for 20 seconds it would begin a 10 second countdown, at the end of the 10 seconds all of your supplies would scatter all over the place unless you moved.
If it sounds dumb I apologize, I liked it in SoF2 and it just seems more pratical than a ref-bot.

But honestly, campers are probably nothing to worry about in DP.

In SOF2 You have a sniperrifle, it's made for camping.
