Feature Request: Configurable Images
« on: February 26, 2008, 01:57:35 PM »
I've thought about adding configurable backgrounds (so people could turn on things like the animated binary background without having to edit files), but that needs to be saved for a different feature request vote.

How about being able to bind the pics directory to an ingame variable so I would be able to easily implement a HUD switch menu and a theme menu?

It would work by setting the variable than calling vid_restart to clear out the previous pics from memory and loading up the new ones.

Edit: 1900th post!  :D

So the HUD could change colour when you want it to, as programmed by the mapper, or the user?

Read the first post and make sure you understand it before you post man.
The mappers won't have any control over this.  He wants this so he can make a menu for different themes and different HUDs.

ty, didn't quite get the wording of the first post (hence the question about it). Good idea. +1
