Some Sounds
« on: March 02, 2008, 07:26:45 AM »
Here are some sounds I recorded of paintballs hitting the thin wood of the houses in a Vietnam village scenario game.

I used a karaoke microphone.

Hopefully these can be used for the surface specific splat sounds.

Nice job man.  What did you record the sounds to?  CD?

GPL?  They're a bit too harsh/loud.  I think the mic may have been too close, or amplified too much.

The PPC was padded in my pocket, the mic was about 3 cm from the wall when the shots came, so yeah... I can tone it down in audacity a bit if necessary. GPL license.

They are on the louder side but they are of good quality.  Nice work.

Here's the problem:

The sound was so loud that it got "cut off".  Even if you reduce the volume in software, the waves will still be cut off and flat.

Edit: Also, if you make any recordings in the future, could you use 48khz 16bit or higher?
