Some family from my dads side came down from Oklahoma. So, we decided why not go out dirtbike riding? it was a pretty fun day, but too bad we only had one bike to use. Here are some pics from the day:

you need a really good cam for this effect right? you have to make a special effect with the cam or just high res.?

To do it properly, you have to take multiple photographs with different exposures.  Naturally, better cameras will have better looking photographs, but aren't really required.

Man...I have some nice pics to post from my Myrtle Beach vacation, but they'll have to wait for now.

My mom passed away in April and I got a little inheritance.
About to buy a Canon 40D to compliment my lenses. The XTI just don't do it for me.
Also getting a 1.4X multiplier, set of umbrella lights, 50mm f1.4 lens, battery grip, remote shutter control, and a few other things.
The 40D comes with a mid-range 28-135 f3.5-5.0 IS lens also.

Hopefully i'll have some more wicked pics soon.

The first beach shots next to each other ALMOST looks like a peninsula shot.

The shot of your daughter:

Could you walk through how you got the background b+w?

It's just a simple extract in PS.
I just copied her out of the original and placed her on her own layer. Then I desaturated and blurred the original (background).

Here's another one I did. The non-blurred girl is actually touching the girl on the right (in the red, yellow, blue, white bathing suit) but it doesn't look like it. And notice the same girl is grabbing the non-blurred girl's arm.

on the pic of the guys, it looks like you had the ISO set a bit to high. looks like a lot of noise in that picture. i like the last one the best.
