New Map: Slippery When Wet

This is a revised version from a old quake 2 map "Slippery When Wet" but I have tweaked it out a little and made it for paintball 2.

16+ Players

Been working on this map for a little while and wanted to see what you guys think.
My lights are a little funky but they work! The lighting isn't to bad either.

I downloaded the map. but in it i only saw a blue base,  ???nothing else. is it the wrong map, an old version? but all of the boxes were slightly misaligned on the side i saw

Yeah, I stretched the colored tile textures to fit like boxes, thought that would be a nice new touch. I might have stretched them 0.2 to much. I will fix for next beta. I would just like to see what everyone thinks of the layout/map itself.

Thanks Rick, I felt that I needed a nice map to get my mapping skill back!
This was a nice one I thought too.

Ok.. Trying to be nice, Miss aligned crates.
Also the low way... make it newbie accessible, not all people know how to jump well. Also I cant stress how much I cant stand when people make nice maps and only have one darn entrance to the flag area. Also the pads are cool but easy to  line.. Make another way up to the flags? Maybe ladders on the sides or even a speed jump from the cocker's just something else. Also a path from the path to mid to the low speed jump would be cool.

Looks real nice though gj

Yeah, I made the crates just a little to stretched then the size of the box.

The new beta here is much more flag accessible but also takes some good player movement for some hallway speed. It is a nice, fast, and quick speed back door to flag and creates a whole new speed to the map.
But it is not the greatest newbie friendly map out there.

Sorry forgot to change map name to another beta, but just over write the map please. Thank you.

I love this map too, I thought it needed to be re-done with a new style and I think I have nailed that so far.

Lol, Thanks Rick.

_b3 should be out in the next couple days, Monday/Tuesday the latest cause of work and other real life plans.

But with _b3 I will be doing a little more than what you see/have seen with DP so far. I might save what I have done for another map that it is more suitable for!

Your mapping skills have improved a lot since some of your earlier maps.  I noticed your _b2 download was still named _b1.bsp.  I uploaded it to the beta server as that.  A few things I noticed:

- Some of the colored tile boxes aren't quite aligned correctly (if you use a 32 grid and scale the texture exactly 2, you should be able to do away with slight misalignments.  From there you can lock the texture and move the box wherever).
- The hole in the wall doesn't match up with the brick texture.  Looks kind of weird.
- The little stones sticking out up to the ledge are misaligned on the red side.  They could also stand to stick out a little more.
- The jump pads, or at least the triggers, need to be scooted back a little bit so you can't hit your head on the platform.  It would also be nice if they angled in toward the platform instead of just bouncing you up and down.

Just realised, to top that off, the map was in the maps folder, not beta. Just copy your map into the maps folder to play it

I have fixed most of those problems already and have been working on beta3 very closely.

I will have more special tricks and detail you will be like "wow."
