Blender Troubles

i am trying to use blender, but i cannot export md2. it says

Model not centrered at origin-centering
object is scaled-you should scale the mesh verts, not the object
model has a face without a texture map

Just a guess, but:

- Center the object at the origin
- Scale the vertexes instead the object.
- Apply a texture map to all faces.

maybe i should have phrased the question better
how do i center the object?
How do i scale the vertexes instead of the object?
how do i apply a texture map to all the faces?

Only one I can really help you with is the second (may relate to the first, too) - blender lets you operate in "object mode" or "edit mode" (I think that's what it's called).  In object mode, you can scale and translate objects.  You can also scale and move vertexes at the in the edit mode.  You want to do the latter.  I'm not sure how you undo the object scale and translation, though.

Applying texture maps seems to be a long and tedious procedure in blender, and I don't remember how to do it offhand.

well what im doing is making the models in another program, exporting as 3ds. then importing them to blender in order export again as md2. (i haven't yet learned how to model in blender)

Your not the only one with the same system.  Most people learn one modeling tool and then use other tools to inport/ export different model types.

Okay, im really confused. I cannot figure out the texture map thing. If anyone knows how, please let me know how.

You need to be able to map a texture to the model. All white, actual texture, it probably doesn't matter. I don't know exactly what the md2 converter wants in a 'texture map'-- look up some tutorials on UV mapping and read the md2 converter's docs a bit more closely.

The md2 converter is busted, it has been for a long time.  Just get a SMD exporter and use the SKM format.

Or if you want MD2 anyway for some reason, use QME.

I dont really care what format that the model is in i just want to be able to get it in the game, without paying any money. and i tried qme but couldn't work that either

Wait, where did my post go? Anyway, there's a post somewhere that outlines how to convert a model to SDK and import it to the game. Search for that.

qME is a lot easier to use than blender.  It's one thing if you're trying to use blender for everything, but to open it up in blender just to export... you're just going to give yourself a headache.

too late.
but i couldn't get qme to work correctly either, it said that the file type wasn't available in the version or something like that.
