Fine. Open up your server.cfg file in pball/configs/server.cfg. Scroll down until you see 'set oppass1...'. Make oppass5 your password.
Then start up the game in normal/dedicated mode. Bring down the console, and type 'exec server.cfg'. Then, when you're in a map, type 'login *yourpassword*' to login.

I'm suprised that jits hasn't stepped in on this one.

it says "only dedicated servers use masters"
If I try the exec configs.cfg it says it can't.

however if your computer is one of the computers using the wireless connection (I.e. you're no longer connected to router using ethernet/network cable) then the performance will be very poor.

Keep in mind when using a wireless network ping lies.  I'm on wireless network and lag unbelievablely sometimes, yet my ping remains <50ms.  I'm convinced pinging while on a wireless network is the time from the server to your router and back and doesn't include the wirelss lag.  I might be wrong though; i acutally think i am wrong on that, oh well, a legit theory... but ping lies on wifis quite a bit.

One thing to keep in mind with pings that server browsers often report, is that they're based on the response time of incredibly small packet sizes(<100bytes) at very small packet/second rates.  Once you start increasing your packet size(like playing a game with many players for instance, or lots of players in a box map) and increasing your packet/s rate (using the command 'cmdrate') your nice ping begins to break down due to the constraints of the network.

That doesn't mean that it didn't work.

Nothing. It worked. It just means that a few parts of the configuration won't work, because your server isn't dedicated, but the important parts are fine.

Never mind, It still won't work......

Okay, step-by-step.

1. I made a Copy of Pball onto the Desktop and inserted the coding for server in
2. I made the other one normal
3. I edited hostname and rotation in server.cfg
4. I tested it on OTHER poeple and it failed

Same problem. Won't show to others, login won't work

Okay, better step-by-step.

1. Open up server.cfg in the configs folder.
2. Look for the part that says
Code: [Select]
set oppass1      ""
set oppass1level 1
set oppass2      ""
set oppass2level 50
set oppass3      ""
set oppass3level 100
set oppass4      ""
set oppass4level 150
set oppass5      ""
set oppass5level 150

rcon_password ""

3. On the 'set oppass5 ""' line, insert your password between the two quotes. For testing, make it aaa or something.
4. Save.
5. Make a shortcut of paintball2.
6. Right click it, go to 'Properities'.
7. Where it says 'Target:' add
Code: [Select]
+set dedicated 1 +exec server.cfg +map *mapname*
8. Press okay, and double-click the paintball2 shortcut.

Now, the using of the password.

9. Start up Digital Paintball. Go to Play -> Join Game
10. Join your server.
11. Bring down the console (~) and type 'login *yourpassword*'
You should sucessfully login.

In the console which is your dedicated server, type in:
oppass1

It should reply with what your first login password is set at.
oppass1level would also reply with the level of the login for the oppass1.
