why wont my clan tag work? its only "[~]mafia826" so why wont it work?  (withouth the quotes)

He just meant that you should ask your clanmates (Robbie, ip0d etc.) about the clan tag because for them it works. I don't really see any reasons why it wouldn't work - you probally made a wrong sign instead of ~ accidentally.
