I asked Fryth for permission about this, and he was OK with it (hopefully still is).  With as frequently as people pop in and out of severs, we really need some maps that can expand and shrink to accommodate the number of players for the moment.  I thought it might be interesting to use a small, but popular (for whatever reason), map and take advantage of the practically never used DSM (dynamically sizing map) feature in PB2.

I was thinking of doing something along the lines of mirroring the map at the flags for the first iteration.  Not exactly, but along those lines.  Perhaps for the second, open a path from one set of ice to the other.  For the third, maybe block off the main path to the flag (up the rock step things) and open paths on the side (around where the banner is) that enlarge the map a bit and make the distance to the flag further.

Any suggestions or ideas on the matter?

...through it i realized it might make an interesting 4 team map (even though its built horribly, looks ugly, and, essentially, just combines different pieces of different maps)...

Hm. Will debug1 work to test out DSM paths?

Yes.  The value you set on debug1 is the number of players per team, so if you set it to 2, it will simulate 5 players (2 on each team plus yourself).  You can also use bots and set the skill to -1 so they don't shoot you.

I have it on my laptop, so I don't really work on it that much, unless I'm away from my desktop (plenty to keep me busy there).  I worked on it a little when I went up to my parents' house for the weekend.

I'm trying to keep the proportions realistic, but it's proving a bit challenging to do that and maintain the same layout.  Barrels, for example, are only about waist high in reality.  In most paintball2 maps, they're about 8 feet high.  Creating a wall of barrels using realistic proportions takes about 4x's as many barrels.  It looks a little weird...

Then go for the 8 foot high barrels. What's wrong with those?
