Way around VCast?

So I got a new phone today, and it came with this proprietary crap software that controls all the music, video, and picture flow to and from my PC.  It requires a USB cable (that costs $30) which was not sent with the phone, regardless of the fact that my phone has bluetooth.  So, my question is, is there any way to bypass the sh*tty VCast software to get my ring tones (custom ones) on my phone?

I'm already really pissed at Rapsody (more software I  hate) for account creation issues that cost me an hour on the phone with tech support.

Any ideas?

Actually, as an Alltel customer I can attest WE have the most crippled phones... I guess that's why Verizon is buying Alltel?

Found a program called BitPim.  Works freaking wonders.

I used BitPim to put an XP theme on my Razr ( verizon )

I thought sprint had the most crippled phones?  Can't even use sim cards with them.

True, but on my 8830 there really isn't anything I can't do.

(it does have a sim card slot though for travel overseas)
