firstly download a version of it, student, proffessional etc....

it will say you have 2 months.

after the 2 months get another trial product key and put it in.

it works over and over again.

Openoffice is annoying though that it has that startup thing and sits down on the bar thing. Abiword is good though.

only thing i hate is the way it ends the paragraph when you press enter, drives me crazy trying to figure out how to line break it or turn that excrement off

Maybe it is, but these people are violating the EULA. Whether it be torrents or this crack, people are still stealing and still violating the EULA... it doesn't matter what they do, too many little kids never pay for any software...

You realise little kids usually don't have that much money right y00tz? I'd rather hear what you said above than too many little kids never get the opportunity to use any software.

I'm not agreeing that stealing is right, but putting that point out there.

Oh and the menu's got brought up. Could someone explain how you make a page landscape? I can't work the god darn thing at all.

It's under Layout or something.

I hate the new menu too... I've been using it for months and I still don't know where everything is. A lot of the buttons don't really fit in the tabs that Microsoft put them in. You don't "insert" a header and footer - it's a property of the document. And after inserting it once, you don't insert it again. That got me for a while, among other things.

Not only that, it takes up a lot of screen space. Minimizing the menu just makes it annoying to use.

I also hate how it looks absolutely horrendous on XP. It doesn't fit at all, and the window borders are thin and the rounded border edges are very rough.

I don't care if kids are cracking/stealing to learn, it'd be a bit different if you, jitspoe, sk89q or I were doing it, which I'm sure is the case with 'some' of the working-age forum goers here.

I use cracked software for a few things, but tend to avoid them. Chances are, there is some OSS out there that does the same thing and possibly even better.

Either way, its a learning experience trying to use the programs.

Being that I am trying new software all of the time for work, I can usually get extended key codes/serialz by just shooting them an email.

Now if the software is new and still in beta, and it looks like something I will buy, I barter to get the price even lower.

For all of you M$ guys out there, you can download almost all MS apps for a 180 day trial period.

Now, if you do happen to have a bit of cash to spend, join TechNet. You get a boatload of software, plus great tech bulletins.

I got it 4 $35 but really, with what they did to it I would've prefered lower, even though in the shops it costs $350ish over here.

I only have office because MS has a nice monopoly on trivial things like...timesheets written in Excel, which OO/google webapps can't handle. Sigh.
