nifty jump in pbcup
« on: January 01, 2006, 02:59:26 AM »
Have only known one other dp player to beable to nail this jump.  I decided to pull it off in a 1v1 match.  Surprised I could do it first try.

Just wondering how many of you knew of that jump and have been able to do it.  If you haven't you should definetly try it;

jump - dbl jump off window - tweak to top of barrels

digi did it when we were messing around a couple years ago on pbcup, most of eR33t can do it.
Now most of the community can do it after seeing your video ;)
I've got a little collection of interesting jumps that could use a fraps.

yeah- bain if you send some demos my way i can frap em.  you'll also need video editing software to compress the fraps capture.  that little vid you saw was a 100 meg capture from fraps at 800x600 :/

What about the one to get on top of the posted flag thingy? I've only seen 3-4 people do it before.
That's just your everyday double jump off the lower step.  Not as hard as this thread's jump because there isn't much speed/angle involved.

I've never seen or heard of your name at reputable LANs or anything of the sort.  '#4 ranked world wide' is a translation for "you spent too much time on your ass playing q2 with a ranking system based on stats that are '+1' stats"

I'm sure you have a good feel for the sweetspot in the q2 engine, but don't get all cocky saying you can do any jump in dp.  To you, I laugh-my-freaking-ass off at

Likewise, I'm not tryin to start the new year off in a bad way, but cmon here.  Take a step back and look at what you've stated.

A hard jump would be on castle1 at the backdoor going from that single barrel onto the banner.

Ive done it like 5 times.

I'll vouch for Clipz; back when I played on Azbok's Q2Jump server and then later in one of the jump-based mods he was pretty high up in the rankings.  I'll bet he's one of the better jumpers in this mod based on a purely technical standpoint.

However the whole jump map thing lost its appeal to me pretty fast, once I got past the initial basics.  I'd rather spend my time perfecting easier dp jumps so that I can do them at high accuracy during matches, getting better lines down on maps or finding some new jumps.

I've got a good demo of that almost burning you in the last match the two of us had together ;)
Lately I've been trying to work that into a line from middle or high(water ladder) exit.  If I can get it down I'll see if I can post a demo.

Yeah I figured that I can make a trick jumping video for beginers... showing off the most popular/easy jumps to the harder ones you wouldn't typically try in persay a match... so if you have any demos of unique jumps, give em here...

An ideal demo would be to have 2 people, the jumper and the demoer... and the demoer demoing the jumper performing the jump... so you could get a first AND third person view...

i have never seen that jump before. one of my fav jumps is jumping from that window thing up above where you started. from there you can see the middle of the map its kinda like a map exploit.

Yeah agreed.

I found a jump on one of Dt's maps. Antioch, go from that huge rock on the top of the hill onto the sign on the castle.

Its hard.

I think I was the first person to figure out this jump.

It's pretty easy though, don't know why a lot of people have so much trouble with it.
