Where did you put the models, and what are you putting in the entity fields?

You should have them in:
Paintball2/pball/models/sk89q
                  and for example/trees/tree5.skm

And in bsp it should look like this

Did it look black when you compiled / fastvised it?
If so, did you make brushes "around" it for the shadows?
If those brushes are too close to the ground the tree will look black, I had that same problem.
As you see from my screenshot, the brush isn't touching the ground - it's lifted about 8 units, you can try that if you want to.

Uhm, could you provide us a screenshot?
Is that problem happening in bsp or when you export?
I think you're missing a file, don't remember which one. Someone else will tell you what to do.

Try checking Paintball2/pball/scripts
Do you have the file "sktrees1"?
I'm not sure if it is the problem but no one else seems to help you so I'll try.

BTW it's with, not wiht :P

Well then the problem is that you don't have the right scripts. Try downloading sk89q's pack again and install it properly.

It was talk like a pirate day.  I was saying you need to use "md2" instead of "skm" for the file extension in the "model" key.
