I'm no coder but i can use paint programs.

these are two of my ideas, Reilly one with a modification of the other...

if someone could implement them it would be appreciated

They need a transparent background. Otherwise there will be a white box around them.

Yeah I know, i have GIMP, but i don't reilly know how to make a transparent layer

Hit "new layer" button on the layers window and draw on that layer. When you save it, either delete the "background" layer or make it invisible.

Apparently not. Those still don't have transparent backgrounds. When you do it right, there will be a checkerboard background instead of a solid color.

And in Gimp 2.6 (the newest one) you can just erase the background with the eraser tool (just stumbled upon that one).

LOL yeah apparently not, mostly i just used gimp for making gif animations....

I'l try it again.

I'v been copy pasting the croshairs into gimp from MS paint, could that be messing it up?

I did one for you. I used the select regions by colour button, selected the green pixels, shift-clicked the red pixels, inverted the selection then erased it all.

Also, you can do some neat effects with partial transparency.

wish i could use the new models but i dont have a 3d card, running all the graphics off my comps ram.

Unless your RAM has suddenly grown a GPU with OpenGL capabilities, you have a 3d card.

The crosshair is very nice looking but it is too big for my tastes.

LOL @ ViciouZ, The game runs prity well though without a 3D card, even when i was running it on a 42KBPS Dial up network, now i'm on DSL 6 MB.
