https support?
« on: November 10, 2008, 08:51:36 AM »
Would it cost extra to have the site support https?  Would it require a lot of work to add support?  If no too both questions, would it meaningful to add support?

This site?  It already does.  Just put https:// in front of whatever you want.

Just ignore it - it still works.  The main page is on a different server.  I don't know if it supports https or not.  Probably not.

Firefox is a certificate nazi. You can safely ignore 90% of it's warnings on the subject.

Well, the warnings are to prevent man-in-the-middle attacks.

Thats why.  Would it be practical to move the current home page to the dplogin host?

I could, but I don't want to tax the server too much and/or go over the bandwidth limit.

Remember 90% of the sites you view during the day do not have any form of SSL certificate. Even then with how long planet quake and gamespy hav been around im sure they have quite a few safety measures in place. I would be more worried about catching a bug from searching for them thar naughty movies. ;)
