forum feature: replied post indicator

whenever I'm on I always hit the show new replies to posts button just to see if anything is new. What I am thinking is to change that button so it says no new replies if nothing new and have it change to: new replies to posts. Click to view when something is new

When I'm on my iPod (only thing for internet access at the moment) the page can take a while to load

I don't see why the forums take so long to load on the iPod.  Its just loading text with a background image, and images next to each forum, depending if theres unread or read stuff in it.  Mine takes 2 seconds 2 load with full strength, but in my room i've got about 32% strength, and it only takes about 5 seconds.  Unless your on dialup, it shouldn't be a problem whatsoever.

Are you requesting that the "show new replies to your post" link indicates whether or not you have new replies before clicking the link?  If so, that's a no-go.  The forum would have to do all kinds of queries to figure that out for every single forum page each person visited.  The database is already being heavily taxed with the dplogin stuff.
