What's with the 192.168.2.XXXs?
2fast4u is connected locally since he's running the server off of his cable modem, thus the LAN IP address.
As for how I got that list, let's just say I haven't been idly sitting by while people were complaining about cheaters. There has been cheat detection in paintball2 for quite some time. It gets stronger with each version as different cheats are made known to me (my thanks to those who have reported cheats). Put simply: pretty much any time a cheat is used on a public server, I know about it. Generally it's just some unknown new player here and there who cheats a couple times and then disappears, but that's not always the case.
I checked the list today and saw [X]'s all over, mostly on 2fast4u's server. Naturally I got upset. This was more than just a case of somebody cheating on a pub server. The admin himself was cheating. If I were to add him to the global ban list, he would simply not update his server so he could continue to play, and in addition provide a safe haven for other cheaters to play without getting banned.
I couldn't let that slide.
Xsv-Boy already came forth and confessed that he and 2fast4u were using the cheats to play against each other for fun. Assuming this is true, are we to set some kind of parameters as to when it is and is not OK to use cheats on a public server? I think that's not the way to go. Simpler is better. This will be the new rule: IF YOU USE A CHEAT ON A PUBLIC SERVER, REGARDLESS OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES, YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF ON THE GLOBAL BAN LIST. In other words, don't use them. Ever. This is your warning. Make sure you let all of your friends know. Once the global ban list goes into effect, I won't go easy on you because you were "just testing" or "just playing with a friend for fun" or "trying to see if somebody was cheating." If you use a cheat on a public server (public being any server that shows up on the server list), you will be banned.
