Windows 7 is pretty intense. I'm upgrading after my online class is done for the semester. Otherwise half the excrement I need isn't compatible.

You should look into the promo at http://windows7.digitalriver.com/store/mswpus/en_US/DisplayHomePage.  It's $30 for any US college student at an accepted University.  Got Windows 7 pro for $30, couldn't pass that up.

Tinman is getting me a free 64 bit windows 7 from his workplace. He works at some data center, and they hand out free Microsoft products. Free, can't pass that up!

You can upgrade, you just have to do a clean install.  I had XP.

...and Windows 7 is *SOMEHOW* better than Vista because...?
I wasn't even sure what Windows 7 was until now.

It uses system resources better than vista, so lower grade computers can run better on a newer OS.

It's basically Vista that runs like XP.  Or what Vista should have been.

Windows 7 is also highly compatible with newer hardware and much friendlier with solid state drives :D

Eh, usually if I print stuff it's in my computer lab on campus, but 64 bit would work better with my computer setup either way.
