I have be having that same problem only when I believe that there is a lot of people in the server and on the most populated servers, also on the servers that lag a lot I believe I have seen this happen.

I think he means Build26 for Linux isn't running on Ubuntu, and it used to for him.

Are you running it from a terminal?  If not, try it and see if it spits out any errors.

Looks like a corrupt install to me.  The file ref_pbgl.so needs to be in your paintball2 folder.

e4g1e - sorry if this is just pointing out the obvious.

- Are you sure you have the full version ? - if you have try re-downloading it again.

- one of the mirrors always gave me a a corrupt tar file that didn't completely extract

- Also make sure that you  have entered the paintball2 directory - i.e dont run it from a desktop link - also run with

./paintball2 (rather than sh paintball2)

Which mirror? is it mine (GarrettW.net)?
FYI, I know it's been down for the past week, but it's back up now.

If I recon right the oss problem is a sound conflict. You can't use music player etc. on the same time.
I remember I might had the other problem too, but don't remember when. Try to fix the sound first. Are you running teh game as root?(gksudo) Try that too.

I think I figured out a way to reproduce the crouch death animation consitently.  This only works on [3ioB] Public Server and with a lot of people.  I found that if I kill someone then look away from it then back at it, it SOMETIMES works (maybe 3/4 or 5/8 chance).
