Drinking Age
« on: March 09, 2009, 06:11:05 PM »
I was just wondering.

-What is it in your country?
-Do you follow the law for it?
-Do you think it should be lowered/raised?

Just doing a poll for a school debate.

United States/ 21
Should be lowered.

Saskatchewan Canada -
19
No
Could be lowered to 18, and then first year University students will have an easier time. But it could be raised and then the clubs would be better. Either way its pretty easy to get booze by the time you're 15 in my city

You can vote and join the army at 18, yet you cannot drink.
Should be lowered.

Who does.

21 - should probably be lowered to 19, not 18 because most kids turn 18 during high school.

Yep. Right through Australia it's the same.
Good age in my opinion... could be a year or two higher.

 estonia 18.
Should be like in many other countries, though. I mean 16=easy alcohol from shops. 18=heavy alcohol from shops and bars.

Makes more sense. In Australia you get lots of extra rights when you turn 18 - voting, marrying age...

Why would it make more sense? How about we allow alcohol when you become 40, because then you can candidate to become estonian president!!!

Oh, and please don't come up with saying that "ohhh, 18 has been the tradititunal agee when u becum adolt".

It hasnt. Estonian boys become men when they plowed their first field.
