Death Match Tournament Proposal

I would like to propose a Death Match Tournament.

Objective: Have a fun time. New death match maps to community. Try Something new.

Map list: Will need to be determined by the people who develop new ones. (Meaning we need new Death match
maps and like people to map some up for this.)

Teams: It is individual

When: Friday nights or Saturday Nights. (Subject to Change) Starting hopefully soon. Faster the maps come in
faster we can get this going.

Server: Undecided. Would like an American server. But maybe the Euros could get this going for Euros
Would like a 16 man server.

Timelimit: 5 mins per map (Subject to Change)

Winner: Who ever has the most points over all the maps, wins.

Points for winning the map.

1st  5 pts

2nd  4 pts

3rd  3 pts

4th  2 pts

5th  1 pts

6th  .5 pts

7th and lower don't get a point

Prizes: TBD
I might have something soon, who knows I just have to talk to the sponsors.
#1 map voted by the player - might receive a prize as well.

Please give me your comments and suggestions.

Thanks,
Nub

PS: This won't top Mosez topic :P

How about ones that were released not long ago?  :D

It will prob happing late march / early april

Only because since there are new maps being made, I dont feel the urge to rush them.

Its been a while since I have seen that DM map.
Since it isn't played a ton, I would consider it :)

If anyone has anymore more questions feel free to ask me. Thanks.

How big of the maps are you looking for the Deathmatch Tourney? The size of arm? The size of Dome? The size of p2dm21? etc?

Well, theres one problem.. If there were 16 people signed, would they have time to play at the same moment? People have more activites than playing DP, but there is also very big count of people which are dependent on DP..

Happens all the time. It is called life. If folks can't make it, too bad for them.

^_^

I've actually started another one.  Its allot smaller.  But, ironically, about three times the wpolly.  :P
Which reminds me.  Jits, why is reflective water bound to the "warp" flag and not the "water" flag?

Off topic, but the warp is a surface flag, and water is a contents flag.  The surface is what's rendered.  The contents are what's "inside" the brush.  On the plus side, you can have flowing water brushes without the warp flag that won't have a huge framerate hit / allow for multi-level water.

But, now I have reflective lava.  O_o

Either way, this map should fit into this tourney if I get it all done soon.  :D
