You need to make sure you are logged into paintball, when you first start it up you will need to add account and type in a registered name and your password. Some servers don't let you play on them without being logged in.

So you freshly installed the game and you got the modified content warning?  The only time I've ever gotten that was when I downloaded b25.  I'm not sure why that would occur.  Wait for jits to come in here, he should help you out.

Yeah it's a fresh install. I installed the full version for windows first and it was happening so I downloaded the update and I thought that would fix it but it didn't.

http://dplogin.com/gbl/banlist.php?action=whybanned

Follow that link and post what it says.

Edit: Looks like you have a similar hardware configuration to Myers, who was recently banned.  Just out of curiosity, what kind of computer do you have?

Stop spamming this thread with useless crap, please.  So that page came up and said that you were not banned?  Also have you tried other servers and it comes up with the temp ban every time?

I think I just got it to work. I closed Steam that was running in the background and it seems to work great now.

Actually, I disabled the hardware ban that you were hitting, but closing steam is probably a good thing to do, anyway. ;)
