I am on the lookout for really good online games, for free! By online I mean mulitplayer online. They have to be really good games, preferably good graphics, and completely free (no demos, no shareware, preferably not where you can pay to get more). If you post about a game please include the following:

1. Download link
2. Review, gameplay, pros, cons
3. Screenshot(s)
4. Please rename the subject line to reflect the game title, for instance instead of RE: Best free online games, then do Digital Paintball 2 or whatever the name is

You can find many websites on the internet of best games, but almost none of the 'best' games are any good, games rated highly by actual gamers are another thing, here I would like to compile a list of good games.

(they don't necessarily HAVE to be ONLINE games)

I dont think that someone has converted it. I think that vortex just uses different textures. It's based on the Quake2 Engine as can be seen on screens so there will be .bsp maps.

Right, dp uses a quake map editor, and as these are quake maps...

I know that both games are based off the quake2 engine.. They added ammo, guns, armor, etc to the map that's why I said it was converted.

Though a text-based interface, Syrnia is maybe one of the best games I have seen in a long time. Not for those looking for 'graphically mastered' games

RS is awesome, it justs get a lot of negative feedback from people who play P2P mmorpgs. It's addictive as hell and only gets bad once you're bored of it, which is usually after quite a while.

Nearly every little y7 at our school this year plays it, quite hard to kick em off to do work as they will tell you to 'intercourse off, im playing'. I never really got into that game, made an account, did something, meh, couldn't care less.

Runescape made an HD version, with way better graphics. I find it pretty fun when no one from my clan is on paintball.
