These are extremely good for first maps. They look good, textures are good from what i see. But none are playable. You were probably using the mindset of a game like Halo, ect. What you need to do is get used to this games' play and aspects, strategies, ect. After you get a hold of that you should be well on your way to become a good mapper.

I have had paint ball for a long time (over 3 years) I learned EVRY THING abut BSP. And all the maps are playable (22 in all) I don't have screen shots for all.
I have over 200 maps, but these are the beter ones. (some of them are like levles (You start in a room and you need to get to the exit with out dieing )

SO im a old timer  ;)

Well, these aren't playable in the sense that you have two teams that shoot each other. I'd say these are maps more for like, relaxation, just a few friends pballing in a private server (which is what Dak50 and I did). Don't get me wrong, they ARE good maps. It's just that for one thing, most of these maps are too crowded and compact, there's barely enough space on some maps for teams of 3, and those that ARE playable, don't have too many paths for players to take, resulting in a massive line fest. There WAS this one good map that was playable though, it was called top_ally. If you want to continue mapping, I suggest you continue working on that one. It's a pretty good map, could do with some nice lighting and a few slight changes to the layout.

EDIT: Posted a few screenshots of top_ally, hope you don't mind. Obviously the map could use some texture reworking, but overall the gameplay was decent and the map is worth completing.

Checked out top_ally, not playable.
1) Change the paint around the flag to water
2) Get rid of ALOT of trees and obstacles (especially in the lower path)
3) Make the paths even, the high bridge path is way faster than taking low, if someone grabbed and went out high and you were low you would be capped on unless you line him across bridge which isn't sucessful everytime
4) Maybe you could make some of those low rocks into ramps that you could pick up speed on

This could become a decent map if you work on it, 3 paths is good. You should make a second flag.

It IS playable. It's just a downright pain in the ass to play.

There fine for me and my bros to play. Its not ment for a HUGE amount of guys. If you like it play it if no don't and by the way some of them are good for lots of guys like block brick.

Your maps look good. It's the gameplay. Other games like Halo and CS would be more suited to this style. Paintball isn't exactly like them, so the map style has to change.

There are quite a few maps that look better than yours actually. :)

But I'm not saying yours are bad. They are just not DP playable. Some people call these "chill" maps.

I've only looke at top_ally, and there's several problems that you see right away:
- Bridge path is the fastest path, really it is WAY faster than the other paths. If you'd take low and enemy would go high, you would certainly get capped on.
- Too much obstacles. There's no sense to put that much obstacles, there's no flow in the map when you have to go around obstacles all the time. Also in the cave, no point putting that much barrels.
- I don't understand why paint is used instead of water. If you'd have easy grab coming and you'd do a little mistake - and then fall into the paint pool, i don't really get the point of it :/ For me, that's piss me off for the rest of the day.
Also, you don't really have much detail, try to get something cool there. And trees made out of brushes look horrible :) So basically 1. remowe/slowdown the high path and 2. get rid of unnecessary obstacles. Then the map could work.
