The coiled towers (in progress)

A small, fast and dirty map for your enjoyment

The idea was to make the map fast and the flag hard to get, but not too hard.


Again: I suck at mapmaking so bear with me!

Played it with a couple of bots and I feel that the map is fun to play but not technically advanced.

A no-brainer! :D

Took a 15 second run through the map, couldn't stay long because Pball's wrecks my computer if I play too long.
But back to the map, I found it a pretty cool idea with the spiral slopes up the tower. Only one thing though, is that the only way up? If it is, that'll be really hard to capture the flag, because just one base camper will pretty much keep the flag protected.

EDIT: Found another way into the base. Good job with the map then. For now I can't find any faults. XD

Edit: your other maps is much better. Only effective way in is ramps because jumps are slow, clumsy, easy to fall off because of little lips of wall sticking out. Teams can't do anything strategical when they have straight line of sight to other teams base. There's no way attackers could suprise defending players. One camper can just sit in the base and get every attacker trying to enter. So if you want to make this map work, you must do these:
1. Block the straight line of sight, by cutting the map in to half and moving other base away to side.
2. Get rid of the jump ways and create more effective way in to replace them.
3. Backdoor behind the flag.

I know. Rampjumps up would be better... And some other ways up too.

You really need to work on your brushwork.  There are gaps and misaligned brushes all over the place.  Did you mean to use wood textures on the barrels?  The base is far too easy to defend.  If one person just stands at the flag, he can shoot at any path to it.  I would rename the file.  Why did you just drop a couple letters out of the name for the filename?  I've uploaded the map to the beta server for testing.
