I'm trying to find out what sensitivity I should use in-game but I'm not sure. This is just a thread to post what your favorite sensitivity level is.

I use 15, but i have a ball mouse so it's kinda horrible and it's really old and crappy. Sometimes i have to lift my mouse to turn

And, these are all the mouse settings I can give (I will also describe it incase any of you want to look it up). It is a black, dell, non-gaming, laser-using mouse.

There is no way you'll be able to understand people's sensitivity with these numbers. They change with each mouse/driver/settings. Between many mice, I've used between sensitivity 16 to sensitivity 5, and they've all had the same feel when I play.

:: Just try and find something where if you don't move your arm, and just your wrist, you can easily twist 180 degrees. From there just go down to where you feel comfortable aiming easily at people, while still being able to flip 180.

I use 1 with a 4000 dpi mouse. I used to have 0.8, but I started getting some issues with it so I rounded it up.
Pheeks, you got an 800 dpi mouse, so if you put 5 sens on, you'd have the same sensitivity as me, because 1x4000 = 5x800 = 4000.
MyeRs here has a ball mouse (400dpi), so he's using 15x400 = 6000 (50% more sens than what I got).

I don't think there's a name for the actual sensitivity you're using, so may I invent it?
I use 4000as.

Ball mice = 400 dpi
Cheap optical mice = 800 dpi <-- what you got, pheeks

I have cheap optical mouse, sens is 16. 16*800=12800

But, I don't have a mousepad, just a a4 sheet.

hmph, I studied a little. Optical mice can range from 400 to 1600 dpi. And ball mice from 160 to 400 dpi.
And there can be exceptions too..
I can do a 360 by moving my mouse 4 inches. And this is with 4000(as?) and no mouse acceleration (m_xp 2?).. saying this so you can all compare.

btw, windows pointer speed should always be held in the middle. Having more or less will make your mouse less precise, AND affect your in-game sensitivity.

Yaw is the horizontal rotation around the axis, the value of m_yaw is the sensitivity multiplier.
Pitch is the vertical rotation around the axis, the value of m_yaw is the sensitivity multiplier.

To the best of my knowlege these values are only multipliers of the sensitivity. Example sk89q uses:
sensitivity 40
m_yaw 0.02
m_pitch 0.02
This is the same as
sensitivity 10
m_yaw 0.08
m_pitch 0.08

The only reason to modify these values is to change their relation to eachother. Say you want to be able to 180 quickly but would like your verticle aim to be a little less sensitive, you would want the m_yaw multiplier to be higher than the m_pitch multiplier.

I had the two different for some time, and I kept changing m_yaw/m_pitch rather than sensitivity, eventually causing the values to diverge quite a bit. But this was long ago, and I never bothered to reset the settings.

Ok, so it's like the horizontal vs vertical sensitivity differences in joysticks but with the mouse.
