I'm pretty sure it is possible to record a demo while playing a demo.  I know it's possible to play a demo on the server and have all the clients see it.

That's a good feature for PBCup matches. Like giving the community the chance to watch the matches shortly afterwards. Really good feature!!

hmm actually that feature seems screwed jitspoe... me and ComaBull have both trying to do this, but it always cut off the demo after the first seconds and then only showed the last 15-20 seconds of it when I tried to play the re-recorded demo.

how do you play the demo for people to view on the server? I need commands, this sounds real neat.

Can you just rename paintball2.exe to quake2.exe?

i did the same thing taco, but mine didn't even load the map, it just froze.  i kept meaning to ask bain how to do it since i know he cut a clip out of a demo before and put it in a new demo, but i never got around to it.

Wow, I have no idea why you're all having so much trouble with it.  Maybe tonight I'll try installing dp and kg2 into a new directory and figure out how I got it to work again.  Bug me on IRC tonight and I'll try to throw together a tutorial.

You might be able to do it like this:
- Start up paintball2 on machine A.
- Connect to machine A with Machine B.
- Play the demo on machine A.
- Record on machine B.

If you only have 1 computer, you might be able to do it by running 2 copies of paintball2.
