Build 29
« on: January 21, 2010, 12:49:50 AM »
Windows versions:
Update: http://digitalpaint.org/files/temp/paintball2_build029_update_pretest2.exe
Full Install: http://digitalpaint.org/files/temp/paintball2_build029_full_pretest1.exe

Linux versions:
Update: http://digitalpaint.org/files/temp/paintball2_build029_linux_patch_pretest1.tar.gz
Full Install: http://digitalpaint.org/files/temp/paintball2_build029_linux_full_pretest1.tar.gz

Not much new from build 28 - mostly little tweaks/bug fixes/contributions I wanted to put in before doing an official release.

- Feature/Bugfix: Multi-map demo support.  If you record a demo that spans multiple maps, the game now attempts to play all of them (may have issues with maps that are downloaded while recording). 12:14 AM 1/8/2010
- Feature: "measure" command.  Type "measure" at the console (or bind it to a key) to set a start point (where the crosshair is aiming).  Move the aim point and type it again.  It will output the distance between the points to the console (useful for mappers). 1:50 AM 1/6/2010
- Bugfix: Fix for old scoreboard data/garbage staying on the scoreboard when switching servers.
- Cvar: s_disableonalttab - Enabled by default to keep current behavior of disabling the sound when alt-tabbing out of the game window.  Not fully functional.  Setting it to 0 only seems to work for 3D sound. 12:16 AM 1/8/2010
- Tweak: File lists are sorted. 1:53 AM 1/6/2010
- Tweak: Minor adjustments to footstep sounds.

I might have missed some stuff -- can't remember what all was submitted to the CVS.

I might have missed some stuff -- can't remember what all was submitted to the CVS.

- certificated server setting (very easy version)
- server lock option
- new resolutions (1920x1080, 1920x1440, 1366x768)

And here is a patch file: http://dplogin.com/forums/index.php?topic=15168.msg185610#msg185610

It's the hardware check file again: TR/ATRAPS.Gen

Do u use "Avira AntiVir" Santader, Coltter? I've send the file to Avira. Normally they sent an email with the result in 1-2 days.

U can lock the server (rcon command atm, sv_locked), so nobody can join the server anymore. Could be useful for testserver, matches or cups. Maybe a cvar_set command would be better than a rcon command.

Gotta love overzealous antivirus programs.  I was afraid this would happen.

Its a free and very popular antivirus program in germany :)

U can sent me the files a few days before u make a public release, if u want. I can check them for a false positive virus warning and if it has one, sent the files to avira. So there are no warnings for the normal players, if they update their antivirus program constantly.

It's going to be annoying to do this for every release, though, and what about other virus scanners?

Mute comes with build 28.

Found some things:

--> Crash!!!: I can mute and unmute client numbers, which are not on the server. Mute makes a crash and unmute makes crazy letters (see the sshot) on an empty server. Can u maybe add "mute all" / "unmute all"? And the muted client should become a message, when he try to say something. (Like: "You are muted.")
- Is it possible to check for reconnects and automute a muted player again?

--> The maps "crossroad99" and "afterdark" doesn't work anymore.

I thought I fixed that mute/unmute issue.  Maybe that was something else.  I'll check those when I get home.

More enhanced, we should be able to auto-mute by dplogin player number, in a mute.cfg file. Is there a feature-request for something like this yet? If not we could make a request.

Not sure about crossroad99, but I don't think afterdark failing to load is a new issue.  The map simply has too many entities visible.

Can u please fix this three bugs, before u release the linux server update files?

1. rot_file setting doesn't work (linux server only)
2. server doesn't load the map-gravity (linux server only)
3. sky hr4 download doesn't work

Tested the multi-map demos a little bit.

It works good on normal servers, but if a server has the setting "g_autorecord 1" or "g_autorecord 2" and a server password, the demo stopped after changing the map and it starts a new demo. Can u make, that it doesn't stop the demo, if a recording is already running?
If i play the demos, i get this rarely (after a mapchange):

Netchan_Transmit: dumped unreliable
Delta from invalid frame (not supposed to happen!).
Delta frame too old.
