hmm doubt that will be the case. you can always change the color scheme to basic as justin said that will improve his fps.

Yes the Windows Areo themes are based in DirectX 10.  The basic are probably DirectX 9.

LittleAce, get the desktop gadget 'GPU Observer' and dock it. In the options you can choose to show the specs of your GPU clocks and loads. I suggest you use this next time when trying dp2 to see if it's your GPU maxing out.

you will need scores like in the screen shot below to have
a chance at running dp without any sort of lag whatsoever.

hearing about your 2.1 score, i'd say its time to do one of
two things, upgrade your hard ware, downgrade your os.

one thing that pisses me off about windows rating is that it does not calculate my hard drives properly i have set up striped raid and it calculates it at 5.9. benchmarked it shows twice the performance but on windows nothing.

well, i run everything stock, vlad as for the hard drive index
have a gander at this.

http://blogs.msdn.com/e7/archive/2009/01/19/engineering-the-windows-7-windows-experience-index.aspx

i run win7 64bit ultimate off a scsi320 74gb 10k hdd, yet i still
rate at 5.5, quaint.

one other thing i just checked out, when i run dp, all four
cores are doing work evenly. nifty eh?  ;D

you can do what you wish disabling this and that in windows7
to make it "run" better. but trust me, if you don't have at least
3gb of ram for that 32bit version, you're not going to enjoy
any speed that won't be robbed by something else.

So I need to roll back to directx9?  I did research and i actually have a gma 950, but it supports directx 9.  Apparently it can run 10-11, but its made for 9.  And if i do roll back the drivers, with it affect 7s performance?

And everyone else:  I know i am on a netbook, and its by no means a powerhouse.  But dp did work with windows xp.  It worked great.

@battle - How can you not like Windows 7?  It's has all the bells and whistles like Vista, only runs like XP.  It does require more powerful computers to run it, but if your computer can handle it, it runs like a beast.

I just don't like it yet because i just got it a week or 2 ago and i'm so used to XP. And my computer can handle it, its almost top of the line. =]

I've given up on Windows 7 for now.  Trying my luck with linux.  Mint will run the game but it will give out too easily.  Any stronger distros that would take advantage of the hardware?

I figured that out lol I got the same problem everyone else has with the running then randomly crashing.  But it crashes around the same point that the windows version lags.  I took some netgraph screenshots buuuut my screenshot directory isn't there.  Anyone know where it went?
