Variable For Binds
« on: May 09, 2010, 09:21:43 AM »
I've looked and looked and looked. Haven't found it though. I am making a bind that requires a variable. This variable happens to be a chase cam. So, I am dead and I need to do type recon I have things binded to "f" "HE IS bd". But I would like to make that HE IS part a variable for whoever I'm chase camming. So I would just need that variable if anyone knows. Please And Thanks.

I'm not sure if I understood you, because it's quite simple, but though I think it's what you're looking for.

bind "f" "say_team HE IS $loc_here" - for where you are
bind "f" "say_team HE IS $loc_there" - for there where you're looking/aiming - good when you're still alive

Thank you, but not quite. So here is what I need. Lets say I am chase camming someone and I would like to specify his name when I recon EX: wyZe is inc - BD, instead of HE is inc- BD, so a variable.
bind "f" "say_team HE IS $loc_here" - for where you are
Is what you said. But I was wondering if there was a variable that would replace the HE in that the person I am chase camming.

is there any way to do this via the player id you get when joining a server? not the global login id

hasn't ic3y done something with this? I mean the specinvite menu?

There's the command from this menu: (might help)

    command "cmd specinvite $menu_ppl_spec"

I don't think that's possible right now.  It would have to be added as a feature.

It's a cool feature, but I could also see it abused to annoy people.

bind "z" "$GL_name is merry"
bind "g" "Hey $GL_name you're bad"
bind "h" "$GL_name, please type 'quit' in console"

I would never make it up, but since you've added it here I'm gonna use it to annoy people :P.

I like the keys you bound...
