Sorry to dig up an old post, but is this still on the agenda? I think it would be pioneering, not only in terms of this game, but in terms of the quake engine, and open-source games overall; I don't think it has been done before in either. So, if you think you can do it, I strongly suggest that you do.

OK, I've done that. Do you think we could find someone to help jits with this? Looking at his list, he has a lot of work to do, and maybe if we could get a physics wiz to help (if jits actually wanted it) it would speed things up, and leave time for other improvements. I'd say walaber is probably a guy to ask for physics (http://walaber.com/) but I'm not sure if he has any knowledge of the Quake engine.

I was just messing about with the ball physics in Paintball2, and set the to move very slowly and to bounce, and I noticed that the physics sytem is actually pretty robust. Taking into account, also, the fact that skeletal animation is included, how difficult would implementing ragdolls really be?
