In the first moment I thought the first screenshot is from island :P

The map looks good and I like to see that you used clip brushes in some parts. Very nice.

I don't like the mid area, though. The mid area is THE area in this map where people see each other the first time and what all players need to use. So where's the point for using so much ice there? That they just say "hallo" and "bye" while sliding over the ice? I would like to see that aiming is more necessary in this area. Don't destroy your maps with useless ice parts ;)

Please add "angle" "#" to all player spawns, that people don't look in front of a wall after spawning. Use this key always for player spawns.

Never use water at different levels!

Most of the alignments are well done. Nice work :)

Last a few screenshots with stuff you need to work on for the second beta. You need to fix/align most of the stuff for both bases...


Use blue lamps intead of red lamps for the blue base.


It's way to dark in this area.


Rotate this face.


Red: The wood at two lamps is misaligned a little bit.
Blue: Don't rotate the lamps here.



Misaligned wall texture. Looks like you rotated this texture, too. Rotate it back and it should be aligned well :)

Put a ladder up there and make them DJ into a ladder. Or you could just put up a ladder jump in there.

There's already a hallway and another path right next to it, make that one a bit harder. Also is it possible to speed from mid ice, hit the side layed barrel and go through that window?

Well... I wouldn't put a ladder. Maybe make ur Hay stack a bit bigger so u can just double jump them. Otherwise, a good way to get up there would be to Ice speed it. Which is easy

A few more stuff.


You forgot a few clip brushes here ;)


The mid faces are different aligned, the left and right faces need to be rotated 90°. It's the same with the faces on top. I believe it was on the othe side, too.


I'd raise up this brush the last unit, because it would look a lot cleaner.


Two things.
1. You can jump under the ladder. A clip brush below it would solve this problem.
2. For what reason did you do a half ladder here, I guess it shouldn't be a jump map. A normal ladder would make it much more newbiefriendly. The jumpers could nevertheless jump up there without any problems.

Some players are unable jump up ..Therefore, only jumps on the ladder
I deliberately wanted to jump was difficult...

I know that this is a double jump and I know that almost all active players of this forum are bored about this discussion because they can do it...

But you need to replace some players with new players to make it correct. Lot's of new players can't do it, most of the other players can do it with or without the dj script. Should this animate new players to use this - imo stupid - dj script? For me it's almost like doping. Where's the advantage, when everyone dopes? You won't find it, so everyone could stop with it and it would result in the same, just fair.

I just hate those parts of maps, not especially this map. Mappers should try to make those parts more newbiefriendly, because new players are the future of this game. Maybe thinking about the first time or the first map you ever played will help you to feel like a new player while mapping.
