You are merry that is all.

Edit: The craigslist post is a rip off. You can get something better for about the same price or a little more.

ECS is a crap mobo brand too.

Here are better (and cheaper) ones from Gigabyte and Biostar.

Ow at the geforce4. On the other hand it would probably respond faster in windows without the ridiculous UI theming. And props for using seamonkey.

Ow at the geforce4, ew at seamonkey, and the theme won't make any difference unless its some 3rd-party program.

It tells you right there, it takes a socket 775. Leaves you open to a lot of dual and quad cores. I use a socket 775 Q9450 quad core and it has been outstanding for 3 years so far.

... assuming that the original mobo link capo posted is exactly what he needed, socket-wise. I just went by that.

You can get a decent video card for about 50 bucks just in case that one doesn't work out. A lot of the nvidia 9 series cards are cheap now.

capo, if all you need is a new mobo, do you not want to use the CPU that you already have? I mean, if not, then your mobo choices are wide open.

I should have known someone would point that out. :P I thought about putting it but then thought it was obvious or not as important, I guess -- cuz if he uses his existing CPU, he might also just use his existing RAM.

It's kinda both, I think, but mainly the CPU. I kinda need to brush up on that as I'm not 100% sure, but you could probably find out from Wikipedia or Google in general.
