Hr4 Texture question for Jitspoe
« on: June 03, 2011, 12:21:36 PM »
was fooling around with hr4 textures and came upon this for sand, wanted to know if it was ok to use because of its color variation from the normal sand texture. SS and texture were in home server.

Some textures give a MUCH bigger advantage of others, so sometimes they are considered illegal and players may get banned for it.
Reminds me of Morocco :D Don't like the way it looks with those walls TBH.

well thats why i want an OK from jitspoe. the sand is almost the same texture as the normal hr4 i think it just looks brighter on this map because its less rough if you know what i mean

This is what it looks like on pbcupsassault

The first one is pree legit looking.  It would most likely cause a disadvantage to you due to the darkness of the texture but it looks nice :)

I think the standard hr4 sand texture looks better.  That one looks too flat.

I always think the default textures (hr4) are the best looking. This is because the map maker (in bsp) chooses what the textures look like compared to the original textures (not hr4). So most of the time the original texutre (hr4) looks the best as its designated name and use.

true but alot of the time the mapper chooses crap textures for his map. an example would be using treebark as a floor for airtime

But you could tell that the mapper when he releases a new map, so he can change it if he likes your idea of other textures. ;)

The first one will be a crazy disadvantage, unless you changed player models... Hackz0r

The first screenshot looks more like red clay than sand. Kind of like a South Georgia paintball field ive played on before. ;D
