Map Voting
« on: July 19, 2011, 09:35:09 AM »
Hello,

Is it possible to restrict voting to only maps that are on the maplist?

If you don't want to allow certain maps, you could delete the maps that are not in the maplist. But I'd prefer another solution without deleting maps, if there's one.

Yes that is what I was looking for too.  I don't want to delete maps.

You can make a feature vote / tweak.

Maybe jitspoe can add new options to the "sv_votemapenabled" command.
1 (like it is now) - Enable the voting for all maps.
2 - Enable it only for maps from the actual maplist.
3 - Enable it only for maps from the rotation file.
4 (something for the future) - Enable it only for "official maps".

Yes I will do that.  I was just hoping it already existed.  Guess not =(

Thanks again T3RR0R15T

Edit:  T3RR0R15T what is the difference between 2 and 3 in your suggestion?  Is the maplist not derived from the rotation.txt file?

The maplist is a list with all maps from the rotation file and voted maps. You can get it, if you type "maplist" into the console. The voted maps are bracketed (never heard this word before...). This option make more sense, if the full voting was enabled on the server and you want only this maps or if you want to add some maps to the rotation manually without saving it to the rotation file.

The maps from the rotation file are only the maps, which you typed into the rotation.txt.

Yes but if  sv_votemapenabled is set to 3 then there will be no maps in brackets in the maplist because it would not be possible to vote for them right?

Yes.

Edit:

On a serverstart option 2 and 3 are the same, but you can add some maps temporary with the rotation command if you use option 2.
