Maybe it landed on somebody and stopped?  How did this happen?

Just happened to me in a match, and it did not land on anything to stop it.

Guy was shot in mid-air, and the flags stayed there.

Any idea which way he was moving (up, down, sideways...)?  How high in the air was he?

No gravity for the flags ?

Not sure if this is the right place to post it.

This happened when we were matching few days ago.
To resume, I was speeding ice, someone killed me when I was in the air and I had the flag.

When I died, the flag stayed stuck in the air like the picture below:

I do think the flag should obey Newtonian Physics. It's weird how I would be bunny hopping at 50 MPH, then I die and the flag doesn't go 50 MPH in the direction I was going. It just stands still.

i think it should stay that way. It would be hardly possible to predict where the flag is when your teammate was killed and you dont have voice recon.

Edit:In addition I think that if the flag kept speed of player it might sometimes end up at some unreachable positions.

I think its weird we'd be bunny hopping at that speed anyway.  Also, you are holding the flag when you're eliminated...

Merging these.  Could you explain the details on how to repro this?  I'm guessing the flag is hitting the interpolated bounding box and stopping.

I do think the flag should obey Newtonian Physics. It's weird how I would be bunny hopping at 50 MPH, then I die and the flag doesn't go 50 MPH in the direction I was going. It just stands still.
I think there's actually a setting for that (like item_addplayerspeed or flag_addplayerspeed or something like that), but it has some issues, so it's not enabled by default.  For example, if you're running along and you want to drop the flag, you end up dropping it and picking it back up again immediately.  Also, when it's dropped straight down, you know how close you made it to a capture point.  If the flag kept moving, it would look like you died after crossing the threshold of the capture point not inches away from capturing it.
