[Feature] Renderer for Demos
« on: January 02, 2012, 07:10:23 PM »
I actually would find this useful myself - I'm thinking about creating a promo video for Digital Paint: Paintball II, and I don't have anything good enough for real-time recording(X-Fire isn't good enough  :( ). If there was a way to render demos to video files, I would be able to create any kind of paintball video without headaches.

:)

I'm checking it out - thanks! I would still find a renderer very useful, but that should solve my problems for now :)

Or you could torrent Fraps like everyone else does.

Well .kkapture is more like a renderer - it actually hooks the functions the game uses to get the time to make sure it gets perfect frame rate recording, just not necessarily in real time. It would be totally unsuitable for usual play. Just start it running, navigate to your demo through the lag, set it playing and quit when it's done. I was working on a version tailored to paintball a while ago but dunno where the source code is.

I think that a this would be a handy feture but I don't think it is the most necessary fetter right now as not all players would need this or want it (newbirs for example)

However it would be very cool feture

Well... I tried .kkapture, but the output is really choppy. Oh well.

camtasia sucks IMO, it's just the most user friendly for people who just started editing/making montages.
