Issues with lag

So over the past couple of months i have started to get some serious spikes, at the start i just started to blame my internet, thought they were maybe having problems and that it would blow over in a couple of days or whatever, but it hasn't

It may well be my ISP, getting packet losses etc..
I recently read edgecrushers topic about the lag issues, and tried nearly everything that he/people suggested to try, but didnt get anywhere

Just wondering if anyone could confirm if its down to my connection, or theres possibly something i could do to resolve this or atleast try, Phoned my internet company god knows how many times, they said things were fine, useless i know..

I use Wireless connection, WLAN Card, And have used since i started playing dp in 2005/2006, so i dont really understand it

Have you tried using a wired connection just to test it?  It's possible your router is just going downhill, or maybe there's more wireless noise than there used to be.

I tried it on the laptop once, it didn't make much of a difference.
I'd like to think not lol, as we've recently had to order 2 new ones, and we're already on our 2nd one from that, but both of them dont change a thing in terms of dp2.
Ive tried by changing channel's on the Router, 1,6 and 11 but i have an 'Auto' selection, and i guess that picks the best one from them all, but again, its not improving anything.

I'm pretty sure it's your WLAN connection. I've had similar trouble with mine for over a year (even with brand new hardware) and things instantly improved when I plugged in a LAN cable and I can play without any lags now.

well that sucks =/ my router is downstairs in the living room, and im upstairs in my room, its just weird how it was never like this before

You could try using a repeater, maybe it works better than.

Maybe the log on your router will have some useful information.  

To test you can do a tracert or pathping to a dp server IP.  

Open start menu,  type CMD, hit enter, type either   tracert supermanspub.com     or  pathping supermanspub.com

Either post results or look for packet loss.  Attempt same test from the pc that is on a wired connection.  Compare the two.


Edit:  Have you recently bought any new cordless phones for your house?  Try turning all of them off, run tests again.
