two jumps
« on: June 21, 2006, 04:16:44 PM »
could someone maybe post demos on how to get up to the barrels from the bottom on ub_cliff.

and also how to get into the window above the doorway leading into either teams room of barrels on castle1. (dont know how to describe it)

ive tried these jumps countless time and have only gotten the one on ub_cliff a few times but the one on castle1 still has me stumped.

if your talking about the barrels in the middle of the map try using the little ramps on the sides of the walls and strafe jump off those and you should make it if you do it right... and as for the castle 1 thing i dont really understand which one your talking about just try working on your strafe jumping and also double jumps... hope that helped alil.. ;)

I think its more of the way i actually jump (this game has one hell of a learning curve) what works for me is i start to look into the direction im bunnyhopping, like if im bunnyhoping holding down left and forward, i start to look to the left slightly or it doesent work.

now that im actually trying to get up to places it seems that dosent work, especially when i have to jump off of two to three objects in a row to make the jump or its a long range jump. So is there an actual way that i should look to make these jumps?

btw ive been playing for like 4 days.

Could you make a demo of the areas you are talking about in castle1?

What I want to know is can you get up onto the beam in the base on ub_cliff, I can hit it, but not land on top.  :-\

Give me a quick tut on how to mak a demo and i would be more then happy to.

On another note, when you do the jump, you dont seem to move your crosshairs at all and i cant tell what you are doing to get up there, its not just a double jump and i can get the height when i strafe jump to the left, also you go straight up it without moving to the left ro right so what are you doing?  ???

A big part of jumping in this game from what i can tell is about how you move your chrosshairs, abut i hear lots of diffrent explanitions, the one i see most is to move it in a "semi-circle" but thats not really telling me what to do.

well when your bunny hopping turn mouse slightly to the direction your going not to much and remember keep jumping cuz if you stop you slow down and wont make the jump... as for the demo thing in console type.... record and its gonna ask you to name it so do record then the name... and just incase you dont know wat console is... its the little sqwiggly line in the corner next to the 1 and tab button on the left....

I dont know how to stop it from recording, and how to exit the demo/save it

i guess the constant error message isint doing much for me because i cant see what its telling me when i type in commands.

To stop a demo, simply type "stop" into the console.

Yes, but at first you have to create a directory called "demos" in your paintball2\pball\ directory.
Only then the demo-files (*.dm2) will be saved there.

That's the first one, the second one is the tree I think.  I suck at the tree, maybe someone else will demo.

well i can do the tree jump now, its just so hard to balance on the branches, i dont think it would be practical in a real game, but thanks alot.

Sometimes it helps if you crouch so you move slower.  For it to be practical, though, you have to learn how to do it quickly, so there's not enough time to crouch and align yourself.
