I'm sure this idea has been thought of before but I just thought it'd be interesting to see it done.

Wobluda seems like a really common played map in pubs, and matches and is very popular all around so I thought maybe a remake would be cool.

 Unfortunately my mapping skills are horrid, but I always have good ideas.

If someone were to take up on this idea and be willing to make this map, I have some good ideas for it, always on irc let me know.

Well I messed around with it, here it is:

Thing changed:

1. Additional ice path that goes bd to flag 2.

2. Additional window that is next to the carbine ledge next to flag 2.

3. Additional ramp (small) coming from high path to mid (makes another great speed.)

4. Mid flag (worth 3 points and can be grabbed quickly by normal wobluda speed, or new high speed.)

5. Water in the ditch in base (shallow enough to not slow a player down.)

6. Additional small window above ice.

7. Removed both of the sewers.

Things that need work.

1. Map lighting

2. Leaks, brush alignments (did my best at the brush alignments and pulled everything down to the bottom of the map but some things are still not touching the ground for some reason.)

3. Possible re-size (smaller) I like the current maps size as it is now, but some people may have a different opinion. It's just a bit bigger now and for reasons being of being able to be hit too easily by common lines when mid.

4. Spell my name correctly in message  :D

Well give it a try, do some jumps, and give me some more ideas for addons or anything. Thanks.

ill give it a wack after christmas but it might not be all that good (with my excrementness at mapping) plus what would be the best type of theme for it. e.g Futuristic, modern, or how its is but with alot more detail(including models, tunnels etc)?

Please don't. Work on your own little maps, you need to learn more of the basics first.

Yeah frog I'm looking for a very experienced mapper like Dirty taco, rick, clipz, or an older mapper to do this, I want it done right.

Why don't you team up with deadfroggy? Cuso and I learnt how to map together, you could help deadfroggy out.

Edit: Oh, so you literally want Wobluda with more paths?

No way man, my mapping skills are 0 out of 10, and I am not interested in learning how to map. Wobluda with more paths for bigger team play and those are just raw ideas with more paths though the common lines are not going to be so easy.

cocker and mid won't get lined so much because there will be more to focus on, this is up idea posting I'd love to see more ideas.

Wobluda has enough paths, and doesnt need more. The remake idea provides no benefit to the map itself.

I agree with MyeRs, such a remake of this map wouldn't provide any benefits to the map itself.

However, don't use the mapfile of the original or the "fixed" version. They've still lots of bugs and problems. The remake of the mapping committee is already better than the latest fix version. I'm not sure why it was never finished, though. I think it has to do with the official consent by obi to rebuilt the map.

I don't see why you need consent >.> as long as you put a reference to them creating it on the loading menu.

Jitspoe would like to have it. It's one of the reasons why the mapping committee still hasn't published anything. But it needs a general discussion about that (when do we need consent? only fixing maps or also improving maps? official map(list)s? digital signature? what happens to all the current broken maps? when is a map playable and without what criteria it's broken/unplayable?).

Yeah, but I really don't have the patients, time, or energy to put together the map from scratch. I think clipz suggested doing that for me, but no one will exact the map perfectly. It'd be so much easier to just give the mapfile to someone who is willing to actually do this.

This way It will be an actual 2nd map, not a complete remake. I do not want to remake the map fully, it'd ruin it. Just adding some extra features is my general idea here. (Not all of those pics I posted are to be made, they were just raw ideas as I previously said. No, I don't see it "benefitting" the map at all, it isn't to improve the map, not a fix. It's to make a new version because the original is very popular in pubs. and matches.

No need to really go any further here though until someone is at least 100% willing to do this in the first place.

If i did redo this map i would change it dramatically thought, texture wise i would make it more wintery and i want to include snow falling in it. Chances are slim i do remake it. I do agree some of the new paths are useless. Esp the ones over two existing paths. I hate the sewers in this map as well.  I would much rather remake a classic map like docks2.
